Repeats/movements
The information about which repetitions or which movements should or should not be played in a composition will be published shortly before the category auditions on the notice board in the Theater an der Ilmenau and on the homepage. Please note the information!
Rehearsal rooms
12 Rehearsal rooms are available for participants in the competition in the Theater an der Ilmenau and in the adjacent school, the Herzog-Ernst-Gymnasium. These are marked with a notice.
Opening hours of the theater/Herzog-Ernst-Gymnasium:
Sunday, October 22, 1-8 p.m.
Monday-Saturday, October 23-28, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
There are 5 rehearsal rooms with pianos available. There is also the opportunity to rehearse in the council chamber of the town hall – there is a grand piano available here.
Opening hours of the council chamber:
Monday-Wednesday, October 23-25, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Thursday, October 26, Council chamber is not available for rehearsals
Friday, October 27, 8 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Short rehearsals on the stage in the theater hall are possible on Sunday, October 22, as well as before and after the competition rounds and during lunch breaks. It should be noted that ensembles that audition first are also allowed to rehearse first. A piece of paper with time slots for entry will be attached to the hall door.
Help with turning pages
If you need someone to turn the pages for you, please speak to participants who are currently free. The competition doesn’t provide anyone to help you.
Repertoire free of choice
You have already shared the repertoire of free choice. It will be presented to the jury for information in the form in which you submitted it. If you would like to make changes to the order or have discovered an error, please get in touch.
The selected pieces for the 3rd round must be made available to the jury in seven copies (fotocopies) upon reaching the 3rd round.
If you are using sheet music from the Uelzener Kuhlau edition, please inform the competition office. These scores can be provided by the competition.
Photocopies
Auditioning from photocopies is not permitted.
If you have copied sheet music for better playability, you must carry the original sheet music with you.
If you have purchased sheet music online to download and print out, you can of course play from the printout.
Performance
The order of the auditions will be drawn when you register in person on October 22 between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. in the competition office in the Theater an der Ilmenau/ Uelzen.
During the week: please be there in good time before the start of your performance. Please enter the theater hall during a break between auditions and contact the organizer briefly before your audition.
Valuables/bags
The theater is open, so please always look after your valuables etc. The competition accepts no liability for the loss of your personal belongings.
During your audition, you can leave your belongings in the competition office (next to the hall doors).
Certificates/confirmation of participation
In the final concert, the award winners receive their certificates. These can also be sent by email upon request.
After the competition, all participants who did not win a prize will receive a confirmation of participation by email.
